YouTube Playlist Autoplay not working

Update: The bug was fixed and today, 28th of July 2012, YouTube's playlist autoplay is working again. I can't help think maybe it was an experiment to see how much of the traffic was playlists. Whether intentional or not, the statistical information this incident created should be very interesting.

Today I opened a YouTube page, loaded one of my music playlists and started listening to the music in the background. After the first song played, the next started, only with the Autoplay button off, so when it ended, the entire playlist play stopped.

No, this is not you, it's not from your computer settings, Flash updates or anything like that, it is a YouTube issue that keeps turning off the autoplay feature. I don't know if it is an attempt to force people to look at the pages with ads on them or simply an accident - my guess is that it is a bug - but this annoying behaviour started today. The funny thing is that if you press the "Next video" button, the Autoplay button gets back to on, another argument for this being a bug.

I've found a Google topic about this problem, you can find it here, also a Yahoo Answers question, that you can find here.

I don't have a solution for this, but I will update this post if I find it.

  4. I found this blog when looking if I was the only one with the problem. After seeing I was not the only one, I started experimenting some. I found the playlists worked in Opera when the videos are blown up to full screen. I did not try this in other browsers, but could be worth a try for those that want to stay with the corrupt superpower. :)

  5. why in god's name would anyone want a continously looped playlist? The current problem is that the playlists have stopped working when using adobe flash (they work with html5). What SANE people need is for playlists to play in full screen until the end then STOP. This is something youtube have screwed up, obviously deliberately for some reason and they need to undo it. But as for autoplay, they could get rid of that button as far as I'm concerned, it's only useful to psychopsths.

  7. THank you for your researches. It also happens with my Opera 11.60 on Windows 98SE. And I'm not kidding when I say my Playlist which remains how it is since 2009 one day like described stopped after trying to play the 2nd song of the list(the uploaded remain the same). Its not our software or operating system. The websites are getting worse, althought you can browse youtube on a mobile phone , this feature is not avaiable for older computers which had no problems for years!. I hope I find some solutions through the weblinks.
